I went to Denver this past weekend and visited the best store I’ve ever been to: Fancy Tiger Crafts. I am almost glad I don’t live nearby because I would spend SO.MUCH.MONEY there if I did. I tried to not go crazy, but I am SO EXCITED to do stuff with this pattern (and also peep the liberty sale fabric i got):
window boxes.
quick update!
extra living space.
i love warm weather because it adds two living spaces to our house: the front porch and the “back yard.” we are city dwellers so a back yard doesn’t mean quite the same thing that it meant to me growing up in the woods, but i spent a lot of time cleaning up and planting this weekend. im looking forward to documenting progress throughout the summer!
the view from Saturday.
nothing has made me happier over the past few Saturdays than waking up early, sewing, and going for a long run when it warms up outside. and now…. wiksten the second, washed and pressed:
reversible dress.
here is a reversible version of the wiksten dress. if i did it again i would:
1. add pockets
2. make the bias tape wider (its meant to cover one layer of fabric, not two).
3. add a gathered waist elastic band
sneaky peek.
houston, we have a bodice.
darts.
sewing is different than knitting in that you have to set aside time for it, its much less quick to pick up and its not really possible to make it portable. at least, at this stage of the game it is.
here’s some pinned darts on my lining fabric.
